Excellent resource. And the next time someone parrots something about:

“Current vaccines haven’t been tested in randomized controlled trials.”

“Nobody knows the risk profiles of these vaccines.”

Tell them here is a spreadsheet that real doctors are compiling right now about randomized controlled vaccine trials. It is already 350 studies deep and counting:

https://www.bradspellberg.com/vaccine-rcts

Hat tip CIDRAP article below, which also briefly discusses additional robust science and surveillance that make sure approved vaccines are safe when given to millions. Sometimes there are rare but serious side effects found, and then a new risk/benefit analysis is undertaken. Rarely, a vaccine will get pulled.

But reinventing the wheel with performative, fetishized, repeat RCTs for already tested, proven, and recommended vaccines is regulatory malpractice.

Watch us lose herd immunity for diseases like polio and measles. So much damage has already been done, with more to come.

Tell them the damage in trust is ongoing, and they are the prime problem.

Ryan, this was listed by Leana Wen--this is the provider site and there is a patient site for vaccine information:

https://www.immunize.org

for patients:

National societies statements about ACIP changes;

Notice YLE was listed as well :)

Awesome Jan, thank you. I’ll copy and paste and cherry-pick what the AAFP wrote (my people) as highlighted in the 3rd link you provided:

“ The AAFP is outraged by the HHS Secretary’s decision to remove all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, undermining vaccine safety and public health. This dangerous move erodes decades of established processes, discards the expertise of the medical and scientific community, and delays getting lifesaving vaccines to patients. We will not stand by while core institutions and systems that protect the health of patients, families and communities are undermined.

###

About American Academy of Family Physicians

Founded in 1947, the AAFP represents 128,300 physicians and medical students nationwide. It is the largest medical society devoted solely to primary care. Family physicians conduct approximately one in five office visits — that’s 192 million visits annually or 48 percent more than the next most visited medical specialty. Today, family physicians provide more care for America’s underserved and rural populations than any other medical specialty. Family medicine’s cornerstone is an ongoing, personal patient-physician relationship focused on integrated care.”

Here’s another spreadsheet, out of Stanford ( home of some current HHS heads): article about it

Immunize.org has redirects to CDC, which at this time has tenuous standing. I have concerns…

Understand: I’m hoping Vaccine Integrity Project or another trusted national source will list a vaccine schedule that we can utilize

Of the four US vaccines, Janssen, an adenoviral DNA formulation, was voluntarily pulled for blood clotting in some women. And another prominent adenoviral DNA vaccine used abroad, AstraZeneca, was never authorized here. So the system works.

Thank you for this! I have shared 😁

So thankful to have access to you and your team through this newsletter. I fear it could become a matter of life and death for some.

Anticipating this, at my son's well visit last week we asked about getting the HPV vaccine NOW, instead of waiting (he's just turned 10 and the practice he's in typically starts the series at 11; it's approved beginning at age 9) ... the pediatrician, knowing what's happening, was seemingly thrilled at the ask and my kid took the jab. As soon as enough time has passed for jab 2 - we'll be in line. Also: our pediatrician is amazing; this merely reinforced it for us.

I so hate that this is what we have to do now. I'm super worried about not being able to get him flu and COVID shots this fall ... we have vulnerable family members who we want to protect (layers!).

Today is the last day to submit public comments to ACIP--they can be anonymous, the category is "government"

Sent in a comment, for all the good it will do. But sitting back and saying nothing isn’t an option. Thank you for posting the link.

Any thoughts on how to frame any comments? I feel like the new committee will pay no attention to comments that are not in line with their beliefs.

I think it's a way to express your concerns, you can frame it however you like. I sent one earlier and then later expressed concerns about the current ACIP and conflicts of interest and the lack of guidance about Covid/flu shots for the fall.

I don't think it will influence them, but they have to read through them. And it becomes part of the official record.

Thank you for all your hard work. At this point I have no idea what’s going to happen, but I’m fully prepared for a road trip to Canada for covid/flu vaccines. Maybe they’ll offer discounts to Americans. 🤷🏼‍♀️

In numerous ways the US has been on a long slow glide path to irrelevance and mediocrity. This whole public health debacle is just one more check box checked off on the Tea Party–Freedom Caucus–MAGA flight plan.

I checked with my local Costco pharmacy (Alhambra, CA). He “thinks” they will have Novovax in October. Fingers crossed.

Karla Buhlman's avatar

Ours in Pacoima, CA said the same. Costco pharmacists are wonderful folks. But a road trip to Canada could be on my families "To Do List"

Apparently RFK Jr. could only find eight individuals who met his criteria and were willing to be associated with him.

No profound thoughts here, but as someone working in public health, this agenda in the context of the new ACIP members is terrifying. And this is just the beginning...

This article alone was worth the price of my subscription. I really appreciate understanding what's going on, because as an old person with multiple medical issues, being able to get vaccinated is an imperative for me.

It is so very hopeful to know about all the behind-the-scenes conversations that are happening. You are now in my top three favorite columns to read. you, Joyce Vance, and Heather Cox Richardson. Thank you!

Robert Malone claims that standing up to vaccine mandates is "patriotic". Well, the mandates have long been approved by SCOTUS, which says that sometimes we sacrifice our individual rights in order to live in a safe community with others. I’m sorry, but what the heck does, “American Academy of Pediatrics is ramping up a strong social media presence” mean?

As a member of the AAP, this is just not enough.

They may not be able to make actual changes, but they need to be ACTIVELY working on this.

Good grief.
