Sometimes scientists have great hypotheses and they get nobel peace prizes. More often than not, though, scientists have terrible hypotheses and crash and burn. My hypotheses this morning were two-fold: People are finally ready for a data-driven, evidence based scientific series on the interactions between police and community members.
I am so sorry that you received death threats and I am sorry that is becoming the more common response when people don't like what you say. How did we get to this? Thank you for your bravery and you are right it is not worth threats on your life.
I’m so sorry to hear this. I thought your post demonstrated an unbiased approach to solving an extremely complicated issue. I would love to read your published work!
I'm sorry and angry you had to deal with threats in response to this. Decided to take that anger and do something productive. With it being pledge week for the local public radio station financial support for all the work you've put in seemed like a good way to fight back.
Thank you for all the past and future posts. I look forward to reading this series whenever you do share it.
Ugh, I'm sorry to hear you received such a harsh response. Along with many others, I too was looking forward to listening and learning. Thank you for your work, your voice and striving to do the right thing. ❤️
When is it ever socially acceptable to openly (or quietly) threaten to kill someone when they're obviously trying to increase knowledge? This is ridiculous and I'm so embarrassed by people in my community. If you disagree, you should try to make things better, not tear down/kill the messenger! Ask questions YES, increase for the common good is good for everyone... and just because someone is posting information about a topic doesn't necessarily mean they're for or against "your side"... whatever "side" that is... because TBH we're all in this together... no one is getting out of this alive... we're all terminal... can we just try to help each other out? You are so putting your efforts and energy towards the wrong end if you're threatening the researchers. SMH.
I'm so sorry. We are so polarized, on all sides, that we can't even have a discussion anymore. We have lost curiosity, and replaced it with self-righteousness and hatred. Your posts have been a lifeline for me, and the first thing I read when I get up each morning. I share what I have learned with those around me, which does sometimes spark lively conversation! I am SO ever grateful for you sharing your smarts with us. I am heartbroken.
I am so sorry. Thank you for doing what you do and helping us to move forward with data, common sense, and compassion. ❤️

So disappointing, I really appreciated these posts and was looking forward to more of them. Thank you for trying!
Sorry for the responses but glad you're working on it. Looking forward to reading more in the future ❤️

Stay safe, we can wait for information.
I certainly hope my questions this morning weren't part of the motivation behind this post. My questions were genuine and my curiosity authentic.
