Two studies have made waves this weekend: Each for different reasons… Preprint of natural infection I’ve gotten a lot of questions about a new preprint from Israel. In short, the authors concluded “natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the (Pfizer) two-dose vaccine-induced immunity”. Here are some high-level thoughts:
Thank you from a grandpa who lives with three grandkids ages almost 7 to just turned 2. Give your little ones an extra hug!
So nice to read honest statements of 'this is what we know, what we think, what we wish we knew, and what lots of people are trying to figure out.' I'm old enough to remember getting a smallpox vaccination and also to remember parents worried sick about polio. I vote for more public health education starting in elementary school. :)
Thank you for your work!!! I’m also a busy working mom and so appreciate your intelligent analysis and sifting through what is an overwhelming amount of information ❤️
I have been arguing with multiple people this week about the journalist, Zeynep Tufekci, the sociologist and Times columnist, whose article presented such a confusing lede line!
I have tired of journalists trying to "interpret" science (esp. Preprint science).
The general public has so little ability to read critically (or even past the 1st two paragraphs of anything).
Thank you for your tireless work—and for listening to your boss.
Yes, Godspeed
Thank you. God bless you and your family.
