Thank you for color blind friendlier maps! My husband often comments about how frustrating graphs and charts can be to interpret (he's red/green colorblind). Other than the orange and red tones being close, he could accurately see/interpret the maps.
I saw a comment on Facebook where you said Pfizer and Moderna will be pursuing full approval for kids 11 and under. Does that mean vaccinations for kids will not be in the fall, but years from now?
Does anyone know if these increases are in unvaccinated or vaccinated people? I have read again and again that 99% of hospitalizations are unvaccinated people. Are covid rates in children going up?
July 12, 2021. am a subscriber. Thanks for your good and great work. I am part of a small "welcoming" church that spans 4 counties and 2 states WA and OR ( of a national one). We remain meeting virtually ,( as of July 12 still virtual). Any observations about what churches should be doing SCIENTIFICALLY? We are not seeing ANY guidance from ANY epidemiologist and need help please . We recognize that the CDC guidelines are FILLED with politics ( sadly) as well as States ( WA and OR). Perhaps you can please do a write -up on REOPENING GUIDELINES for FAITH Communities about meeting INSIDE.
What’s the solution though? I know you constantly talk about increase of testing, social distancing and masks but a lot of these pockets are in areas, especially in Texas that didn’t originally follow this and won’t. Messaging from anyone tied to the government seems to ignite more resistance and it seems doctors are running into a wall advising their resistant patients. I think I read of the 30 percent of adults not vaccinated less than 10 percent would bet with better access and more education. Lastly, the wsj ran a story yesterday about the 18-30 crowd that are more inclined not to get this because they already had COVID-19 . I don’t know how you fix that beyond mandates which just seem to be a fine line at the moment . ~ps fully vaccinated since April and am a huge proponent but losing hope
What's also happening in Tennessee is that the Republican-controlled state legislature threatened to defund the state health dept. for running social media ads encouraging 16+ teens to get vaccinated. As a result the health dept. stopped all ads and pop-up clinics.
Almost no one in the state wears masks or practices any kind of protocol. Parents protest angrily when schools mandate masks. The public universities won't require vaccines or masks, in fact, teachers can't even ask students or colleagues if they've been vaccinated, or ask them to mask up.
Based on that, I imagine you can make some safe predictions on what will happen.
So all of the vaccine percentage data I can find is 16 and above, 12 and above etc.
Can you explain to me how it's not essentially sticking a stick in our own bike tire to NOT count the entire population percentage in terms of gow many are vaccinated per state, county, etc?
They can spread it and get sick too. Is there somewhere those numbers exist because I feel like we are heading quickly in to a very bad time here. 😑😥
