Welcome home. Your voice and perspective has been invaluable for us to get through the pandemic. Thank you.
Because of all the "love letters" you've been getting (I'm so sorry), I've upped my subscription to the yearly max. You shouldn't have to pay for that by yourself.
I work for an LHD, and all of a sudden, COVID is busy again. Personally, I have multiple friends and family members who are first timers recently. Would love to know more about EG.5 and FL.1.5.1 (which is dominating my region.) It seems like GI symptoms are back in force. This will be my first fall as an immunocompromised person, so would love to hear about new monoclonals (I remember reading about some in development.)
I'm horrified that conservative media have placed a target on you and incited threats from the willfully ignorant. They might be the death of us all. Too bad there's not a vaccine for that.
So glad that you took time to refresh and renew yourself. Sad to hear about the death threats stuff. I think that I speak for most here that we greatly appreciate your work. I look forward to all of your future posts. Thank you for being there for all of us and educating us on what can be complex topics in public health. Onward!
I’m disgusted and dismayed that yet another public health professional is being threatened and bullied. Stay safe and stay resolute, you’re appreciated and needed.
I am sad and angry that you are the subject of bullying and threats! How can your research and newsletter possibly trigger such inappropriate behavior?
We appreciate your willingness to continue this public facing work despite the terrible threats! Question for a newsletter: Would love to read about your current family approach and perspective on risk and masking for various activities indoors (dance classes, gyms, classrooms, indoor dining, birthday parties, etc.) for fall semester given rising cases and seasonality. Like how are you (personally) handling these things and what's your thinking as the school year starts? Thank you!
Thanks for your ongoing leadership, sifting through the science for the rest of us. I look forward to what you'll share next. May the threats end and lawsuits prevail.
Thank you for everything you do. I’m glad you had a wonderful vacation, but I’m so sorry about the death threats. I’m glad you are working with local law enforcement but you and all the other physicians and scientists should not be a target of any threats. No one should, but especially not the angels of science that work so hard to help all of us with our health and well being.
I second this. Any information about fall boosters and especially recommendations for the kiddos would be greatly appreciated! Welcome back and thank you for all your work! ❤️
Yes! Pediatiricians in Dallas are suggesting fmailies wait for the new Fall vaccines. I'm concerned with increased community spread, school starting, and nominal ventilation improvements to most infrastructure.
I'm so sorry about the threats. It's brave to continue, but please keep being as careful and safe as possible. You've been a source of easy-to-understand, scientific information and I hope we all get to continue to listen to you.
It's unbelievable that you should be targeted. Also despicable. I hope it doesn't weigh on you too much.
I am interested in the question of what happened over time to the racial disparity in cases and deaths. My understanding is that Whites largely caught up to Black and Hispanic people as the major waves moved from urban to rural areas (and to more red states). Can you comment on that? How do vaccination rates differ by race?
The news about the threats is both alarming md deeply saddening. Please be safe..we need and appreciate you and ll you do more than you’ll ever know.
Thank you so much for all that you do! I'm glad you are taking a hard line with threats. That cannot and should never be tolerated!

It appears that "conservative" these days is just a synonym for "fascist" and/or "terrorist." I'm old enough to remember when that was not the case.

Thank you for all you do - it is so valuable. The picture is adorable!
My question: please advise about current Covid vaccine recommendations for children (its a quagmire trying to find updated into)
