An anti-vaxxer and an engineer are crossing a bridge over a crocodile-infested river.

The anti-vaxxer asks “What are the odds of us making it across the bridge safely?”

The engineer replies “After a careful structural analysis, I calculate a 99.9% chance of crossing this bridge safely.”

The anti-vaxxer then says “Forget it, I’ll swim.”

I was curious if you had any updated information or perhaps upcoming letter regarding vaccinated people and the spread of the virus. Have seen a few articles popping up lately and as a parent of an non vaccinated toddler the thought that I can still bring this to him keeps me up at night. Is this something you can address? Thank you so much for your service here!

This! Tho I've a newborn.

Forgive me if I’m being a bit dense here. Were the antibody level increases based on initial antibody levels measured just prior to the booster dose or at some time point shortly after the initial vaccination series? Thanks!

Is it odd that I’m so honored you like my question? 😂

I have 3 teens, 13, 13, & 15, who got the Novavax in a trial. Is it safe or necessary to boost them now? It would have to be Pfizer because we're in the US. I can't find any guidance on this and the clinical trial folks said they were not testing boosters for teens.

Has there been any update Re: the efficacy of the Moderna 1/2 booster vs. the full dose one they used in this study? I’m immuno compromised and really want the full dose Moderna following my two dose Phizer series. So I’m wondering, if I can’t get a third full dose of Moderna, which do you think would be more effective - a half dose Moderna booster or a full dose a Phizer? And do you know if I can get a full dose Moderna with a doctor’s letter? Thank you so much for all you’re doing. You’re a lifeline to us during the pandemic.

unfortunately there hasn't been any update on the science. we still don't know, but I would guess that the half dose of Moderna is on the same playing field as Pfizer.

I wish I could share a screenshot, but Emily Smith shared information about mixing that seems to have different results from the table above. I’m curious to understand the differences. I appreciate any help understanding it!

Following government policy, due primarily to supply issues for specific vaccines in Canada when the vaccination campaigns were gearing up nationwide, many of us were urged to take AstraZeneca for our first shot, followed by Pfizer or Moderna for our second. Given that the choice was to remain unvaccinated, or incompletely vaccinated, many Canadians did what was urged and mixed vaccines. The immediate logic for that decision, was that the alternative (being unvaccinated, or incompletely vaccinated) was almost certainly more dangerous than vaccine mixing. Good to hear that these studies support the safety of mixing vaccines, even if AZ isn't part of the study.

65-year-old female here. I had the J&J on March 5th. I've been gungho to switch to Moderna because its numbers have been higher than Pfizer's. Should the fact that the Moderna booster is only half a dose change how I choose between the two? Is Moderna still my best bet?

Wow! What an outstanding report! Thank you so much for making sense of all the information thrown out by the media. You are the only info source that I and my family trusts!

The study reports that vaccine #1, #2 and #3 show a X fold increase over what they had after their respective regimines (J&J after 1 dose and Moderna and Pfizer after their 2nd doses). Since the antibody levels are different for each vaccine, a direct comparison isn't relevant, is it? What am I missing? For example, if J&J produces x antibodies and Moderna produces 50x, a Moderna booster increasing J&J by a factor of 40 would not produce a better result than a J&J boosting Moderna by a factor of 2. Maybe I am reading it wrong.

Do you see a compelling reason to get a booster if you got the J&J and have no comorbidities? My 18 year old son specifically got the J&J because it is one shot. He has no risk factors and is not regularly around anyone with risk factors. It will take some convincing to get him to get another shot! (I know I'm jumping the gun since it isn't even approved yet, but I need to gather my data to deal with my son!)

Hello- Thank you so much for this update. More importantly, want to thank you for the information from all the upcoming meetings. So many important things coming up soon. Especially the child vaccine request with the FDA. THANK YOU for summarizing all of this for us. You have been my guiding light during all this!!!

Thank you! Thoughts on getting both mRNA shots after an original J&J vaccine 6 months ago?

so far it looks like we only need one booster (not both). not sure if this will change in the future, but right now it looks good
