I’m taking this week off from newsletter-ing. The World Health Organization flew me out to Türkiye this week to apply the lessons learned from YLE/pandemic to another emergency. Quite literally translating science and data into messages, recommendations and actions that are comprehensible, accessible, and relevant.
Your sacrifices and efforts here (and overseas) mean so much. Thank you to your family, because I am sure it's not easy on them. We owe our gratitude to your husband and children also (and whoever else is in your support network - babysitters, extended family, friends, neighbors, etc.). Your village is helping the world by helping you, and we appreciate all of them. Please share our appreciation.

Have a safe trip. I did 4 relief trips to Haiti after the 2010 earthquake as part of a Rehab team. Even though it was several months after the quake, the devastation of people's lives was overwhelming. I pray that you can help with messaging during a fearful and catastrophic time.
First, a paid YLE subscription is an extremely valuable tool for any practioner. Also, thank you for all of your excellent work. I am sure your work in the disaster will be invaluable.
Your excellent knowledge translation of critical research is why I signed up. The role you are playing in getting important information out is invaluable. Everything else is gravy and I’m so grateful for that too. So pleased the WHO has also noticed your talents and is putting you were you can be of great help. Best of luck in what I’m sure will be a terribly difficult experience.
I don't need anything more than just READING what you put out. I might comment occasionally. But yeah, do what you do and my subscription (carefully considered--there are too many things we could subscribe to) is well worth it. I hope your time in Türkiye goes as well as it possibly can. They are lucky to have you there.
